Christy Braman, MA, LCMHC
Christy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with adults who have experienced abuse in their childhood whether sexual, verbal, physical, emotional, spiritual, or neglect.
Her work also includes grief, loss/bereavement, anxiety, depression, codependency, life transitions, divorce recovery, women’s issues (i.e. menopause, post-partum depression, post-abortion), and internal conflict, childhood emotional neglect (CEN), and highly sensitive persons (HSP).
She uses a psychodynamic eclectic approach focused on understanding how past experiences and relationships influence current difficulties. She integrates parts of other therapeutic approaches including internal family systems therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and attachment-based therapy, person centered therapy and Gestalt therapy.
Christy served in various missions overseas and had the privilege of counseling missionaries in Asia for 3 years.
She received her MA in Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary Florida in 2001 and earned her BS in Psychology from Madonna University, MI. in 1999.
In her free time Christy likes to draw, paint, make pottery, make sourdough bread, cookout with friends, hang out at the pool, or sit by a lake and read.
